AIM – University Center for [Human and Data] Sciences

Advancing Human
Flourishing
in the Digital Age

AIM integrates human sciences and data sciences into a coherent, non-reductive framework for research, innovation, and societal transformation.

What We Do
A Platform and Research Center

AIM operates in two complementary roles, bridging AAU-internal expertise with regional, national, and international academic and industry stakeholders.

Platform Builder

AIM acts as a connective hub — coordinating within AAU through a dedicated core team and reaching outward through a steering group of academic and industry partners.

  • Educational activities & lifelong learning
  • Internal seed funding for research
  • Thematic networking and platform events
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration across faculties

Research Center

AIM conducts original research through dedicated staff and serves as a force multiplier by engaging institutes and experts from across AAU and the wider region.

  • Research conducted by dedicated center staff
  • Engages AAU institutes and regional experts
  • Supports international funding applications
  • Coordinates Digital Health flagship activities
Flagship Domain
Digital Health

Digital Health is the primary focus area through which AIM galvanises stakeholders, coordinates research, and drives innovation within and beyond AAU.

AAU Research Flagship Area

AIM serves as the primary focal point and coordination center for AAU's Digital Health Research Flagship — connecting researchers across the university, managing active projects, and linking to a curated publication database.
